Accessibility
Accessibility at Generation Bee
We want everyone to be able to browse, read, and shop our site, regardless of ability or the technology they use. Accessibility is part of how we build, not an afterthought, and we work to keep it that way as the site grows.
The standard we follow
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, motor, and cognitive.
What we have built in
- Clean, semantic structure so screen readers can navigate the page in a logical order.
- A skip link and full keyboard support for menus, buttons, accordions, and dialogs.
- Visible focus outlines so you can always see where you are with a keyboard.
- Descriptive alternative text on product and brand imagery.
- Color contrast checked against the AA threshold for body text and controls.
- Respect for the reduced-motion setting, which turns off animation if you prefer.
- Text that resizes and reflows cleanly on phones, tablets, and desktops.
Ongoing work
Accessibility is never finished. We test the site with automated tools and by hand as we make changes, and we treat any barrier we find as something to fix.
If something is hard to use
If you run into any part of this site that is difficult to access, or you need information in a different format, please tell us and we will help and put it right.
